Got a good deal

So I was browsing GoDaddy for domains and stumbled on 'oneword.shop'. I really liked it but the price tag was a bit steep. I figured, what the heck, and just made an offer lower than what they wanted. Didn't think they'd go for it, but they did! The whole buying process through GoDaddy was pretty chill, no weird hiccups or anything. Took about 5 days for the domain to show up in my account after all was said and done. Pretty pleased with how it all went down.

Good value for a key domain

I was looking for a strong domain and saw 'oneword.shop' listed. The initial price was a bit high for my budget, but I decided to make an offer anyway. To my surprise, they countered with a price I felt was fair, a decent amount off the original. The whole process, including the GoDaddy escrow, felt secure and was pretty straightforward. It was definitely worth the purchase for the brand potential. This felt like a smart investment, especially since I saved a bit by negotiating.

Smooth transfer, good price

I've bought a few domains through GoDaddy's aftermarket before, and this time was just as good. Got the 'oneword.shop' domain. I made an offer slightly below asking, and they accepted after a bit of back and forth. The transfer process was quick, much like my previous purchases. It took about 3 days for everything to clear, which is standard. Always reliable for premium domains.

Easy domain purchase

Bought 'oneword.shop'. Negotiated the price down. Transfer was quick, under a week. Happy with it.

Can I use PayPal or something to buy this, or is it just credit cards for domain purchases?

T Tara Silva 1 month ago
GoDaddy usually accepts a bunch of payment methods. I'd imagine PayPal is one of them, along with major credit cards.

I've bought domains on GoDaddy before and they take most major cards. I'm pretty sure PayPal is an option too. You'll see all the choices at checkout.

I'm looking at this and domains on Afternic. Is there any real difference buying from here vs Afternic, or is it basically the same process?

J James 4 weeks ago
Both are pretty similar as they're aftermarket platforms. GoDaddy is a big player so you get their escrow and transfer process, which is generally reliable.

It's mostly the same. Both are big domain marketplaces. The main thing is usually just who has the domain you want. GoDaddy's platform is pretty standard for transfers.

Are there any coupon codes for this site? Like a first-time buyer discount or something?

T Tara Walsh 1 month ago
Nah, for parked domains like this, regular coupons don't really apply. Your best bet is negotiating the price down directly.

Coupons aren't a thing for these kinds of domain sales, unfortunately. It's not like buying stuff from a regular store. Just make a lower offer, that's your 'discount'.

Is buying a domain through GoDaddy safe? Like, will I actually get the domain or could it be a scam?

B Beth 1 month ago
GoDaddy is a huge registrar, so yeah, it's generally very safe. They act as an escrow between you and the seller to make sure everything's legit.

Totally safe. GoDaddy is a reputable company and they have a whole process for domain transfers to protect both buyers and sellers. You're not just sending money to a random person.

Anyone know if they do payment plans for this? Like, I can't drop all that cash at once, but really want the domain.

W Wendy 1 month ago
Yeah, I think you can do a 'lease to own' thing through GoDaddy. It's like paying it off over time, then it's yours. Seen that option on other domains there.

Lease to own is definitely an option. GoDaddy handles all that. So you can basically rent it for a while and eventually own it, spread out the cost.

Hey, thinking about buying this domain. What's the deal with the price, is it really fixed at $799 or can you actually talk them down?

A Alex K. 3 weeks ago
Nah, it's totally negotiable. I heard you can just make an offer lower than that and see what happens. Doesn't hurt to try.

C Colin T. 3 weeks ago
Yeah, definitely try to offer less. That's how it usually works for these parked domains. I think there's even a 'make an offer' button or something. Don't pay full price if you don't have to.

How long does it take for the domain to actually be mine after I pay? Is it instant or does it take a while to transfer?

J Josh S. 1 month ago
It's not instant, but it's usually pretty quick, like a few days. GoDaddy handles the transfer process.

T Todd Doyle 1 month ago
From my experience with GoDaddy, transfers usually take a couple of business days, sometimes up to a week if there are any hiccups. They'll walk you through it though.

Thinking of buying a few domains. Do they give any kind of bulk discount if I grab more than one?

D Daisy T. 1 month ago
I've heard of bulk discounts being a thing for some sellers, but it's usually part of the negotiation process. You'd have to make an offer for multiple.

S Sophie 1 month ago
For sure, a lot of sellers are open to that. You'd probably get a better deal per domain if you're buying a few at once. Just include that in your offer.
